Monica D.B. Fouty LMBT# 17508

Originally from southern California, my family and I moved to North Carolina in 2001. During my 1st year of college, my mother received her certification and license in Massage Therapy, thus, exposing me to holistic benefits of massage. I was intrigued and inspired by the concept of treating the body as a whole to reach a homeostatic state. When I decided to attend massage school I knew I wanted to work with pregnant women and potentially work on obtaining my Doula certification. I am drawn to womens’ health, primarily reproductive health, pregnancy, birth, and child development. In my previous career I worked in education and caring for infants and young children. While I was working with children I was always enamored by their mothers' pregnancy journey and birth stories. Once I received my massage license I found Claire Marie Miller's maternity massage class, her knowledge and compassion was so compelling,I knew I wanted to attend more of her classes and continue spreading her wisdom. Since then I have practiced maternity massage for 4 years and fertility massage for 1 year. I have greatly enjoyed the connection this modality has created between my clients, their unborn child and myself. I now want to share this knowledge and love by educating other LMBTs. My long term goal is to use this wisdom to educate young women about their reproductive health. It is my belief that educating women about their bodies and the amazing journey into motherhood empowers them to receive the best pre, peri, and postnatal care possible
