Monica Fouty
Originally from southern California, Monica and her family moved to NC in 2001. During her 1st year of college, her mother received her certification and license in Massage Therapy, thus, exposing her to holistic benefits of massage.
She was intrigued and inspired by the concept of treating the body as a whole to reach a homeostatic state. When she decided to attend massage school she knew she wanted to work with pregnant women and potentially work on obtaining my Doula certification. She is drawn to womens’ health, primarily reproductive health, pregnancy, birth, and child development.
In her previous career she worked in education and caring for infants and young children. While she was working with children she was always enamored by their mothers' pregnancy journey and birth stories. Once she received her massage license she found Claire Marie Miller's maternity massage class, her knowledge and compassion was so compelling, she knew she wanted to attend more of her classes and continue spreading her wisdom.
She has greatly enjoyed the connection this modality has created between her clients, their unborn child and herself. She now wants to share this knowledge and love by educating other LMBTs. Her long term goal is to use this wisdom to educate young women about their reproductive health. It is her belief that educating women about their bodies and the amazing journey into motherhood empowers them to receive the best pre, peri, and postnatal care possible
